Prepare a React source build

The React binding and native runtime composition are experimental, private source-build packages. @threadplane/react is unpublished at 0.0.0; there is no supported public npm installation command for this guide.

Use the repository toolchain

Use Node.js 22, the major used by the repository's React CI lanes, and npm at the workspace root. React 19.2.4 is the tested runtime; the React package declares React and React DOM ^19.2.4 peers. React DOM supports the chat presentation's portals; the headless root does not import it.

From a Threadplane checkout:

npm ci
npx nx build react
npx nx build cockpit-langgraph-streaming-react

The example build prepares its private LangGraph runtime and builds the core, content, and React dependencies through Nx. It assembles an isolated consumer using local package artifacts. A workspace source alias alone does not reproduce that packaged boundary.

Verify the binding and example

npx nx test react
npx nx run react:type-tests
npx nx test cockpit-langgraph-streaming-react

Browser coverage uses the example's e2e target with its fixture prerequisites. Follow the streaming guide for the runnable preview and source files; the project has no standalone Nx serve target.

Configure the backend separately

The preview's runtime bridge selects the shared development target or a developer LangGraph target. connection.ts disables SDK retries and checks the exact created thread ID. It is example composition, not a backend constructor exported by @threadplane/react.

Keep model and provider credentials server-side. If your production browser needs authenticated access, supply an application-controlled endpoint and an appropriate user authentication boundary. Do not bundle provider secrets into React source.

Continue with Quickstart. The binding is client-side; server rendering and hydration are not supported by useAgent.
