ChatError
This is an experimental, private React source-build component.
ChatError borrows a readonly AgentError from @threadplane/core. A null or undefined error renders nothing. Otherwise it displays the literal message and optional detail in one accessible alert. Import @threadplane/react/chat/styles.css for its standard appearance.
import type { AgentError } from '@threadplane/core';
import { ChatError } from '@threadplane/react/chat';
export function FailureNotice({ error, retry, checkStatus }: {
readonly error: AgentError | null | undefined;
readonly retry?: () => void;
readonly checkStatus?: () => void;
}) {
return <ChatError error={error} onRetry={retry} onCheckStatus={checkStatus} />;
}The adapter classifies the error before presentation. This component does not coerce unknown exceptions, interpret HTML, infer links, make requests, or own a session. Callbacks receive zero arguments; the application handles async results, deduplication, and lifetime.
recovery: 'check' offers Check status only when onCheckStatus exists. An unavailable check never falls through to Retry. recovery: 'none' offers no action even if retryable is true. Retry requires retryable: true, recovery of 'retry' or undefined, and an explicit onRetry. disabled retains the appropriate button while preventing activation. className adds classes to the alert. Mounting, updates, and unmounting never dispatch recovery or move focus.
Default Chat presents the session error through this component and forwards the session's optional checkStatus capability. Before dispatch it captures that capability and verifies that the session still presents the same error. An optional Chat.onRetry forwards an application-owned intent; Chat never replays a draft or calls submit to retry.
The native React example displays only the ready selected runtime's error. Its application exposes no execution retry or status-check callback, so the notice has no action. The separate selection Retry reloads a failed conversation selection and is not execution recovery. See error handling for the runtime boundary.
